Show Them What You Got. Convincing Design Presentation.
Design presentation is one of the most important skills for architects. It is a highly complex task that should be understood as an integral part of the design process. Directly building on the content of last semester's lecture series "Introduction to Architectural Communication", in this seminar we will theoretically develop and practically exercise the basics of a convincing presentation: The development of an exciting narrative structure, precise formulation of strong messages, stringent visual and verbal argumentation, optimisation of chosen visual formats in a conscious audience design.
Number of Participants: max. 35
Regular date: Wed. 11:30 am–01:00 pm
First meeting: 28 October 2026, 11:30 am
Deadline/Test: 19 March 2027
Was zeichnet uns besonders aus?

Who we are and what we do. Office presentation via website and social media
A website is the central tool that architecture firms use to explain who they are, what they do, and what clients can expect from them. It is here that all the key challenges of architectural communication converge: How do we present a project in words and images in a way that is both understandable and appealing? What matters most to us in architecture and urban planning? What's so special about us? How do we want to be seen by potential clients, future employees, as well as fellow professionals and the academic community? We will explore these questions using diverse examples, learn about empirical validation techniques from the field of user experience research, and discuss whether the website is still relevant in the age of Instagram, LinkedInm, TikTok and AI.

This deepening course, conducted in close coordination with the design studio, will explore how the BFZ can be conceived in such a way that it not only provides optimal research conditions but also effectively communicates the themes of the “Bauwende” to a wider public. To this end, we will examine the fundamentals of transdisciplinary research and the communication of architecture and science, as well as their most important tools—such as exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops—and their respective spatial requirements.
Attending the course is only possible for participants of the corresponding design project 1720552.

Cover Me 3.0: A New Appearance for the Faculty Yearbook
After two successful cycles, each consisting of three issues—whose designs emerged from earleir Stegreif competitions in 2021 and 2024—the task now at hand is to give our beloved yearbook a fresh new look for the next three editions. In this open call, you have one week to develop a concept that visually represents our faculty’s identity and values in a contemporary way and carries them into the future. The best entry will be implemented.
